better late than never

a few days shy of four years after starting my journal, i added the finishing touch. a button. it can now be closed properly, and that annoying piece of leather i had painstakingly cut into a strap now has a purpose.

the motivation for finishing this (rather important and long delayed) task was the discovery of a source of quirky buttons. said source took the form of a magical jar at a local seattle antique store. the sign oh so innocently advertises 10/$1.00 which sounds cheap, unless you purchase 170+ of them. i now have a pretty amazing button collection. not sure what i will do with it yet, but i have it. and it's (of course) arranged by color.
