It's 10:30pm and I'm not even home yet. The day started with a bit of a hike through the family tree farm and too little sleep. But it was a perfect weekend; a perfect good bye. The lightning on the horizon both last night and on the drive home tonight was g l o r i o u s. As was the funeral. And my family. I'm pretty proud of my family and the fact that I am a Mikesell in blood if not in name. The joke at last summer's family reunion was that there were the Bloods (Grandpa and his 8 children), the Cryps (their spouses), and the half-bloods (us cousins).
My mind is running in circles which means my writing is more tangential than normal. So I should probably sign off before making myself (and perhaps you) dizzy.
And so, goodnight. We go over the top tomorrow.
Currently Listening To: Sigur Ros - Festival; the entirety of the new album actually.

better late than never
the motivation for finishing this (rather important and long delayed) task was the discovery of a source of quirky buttons. said source took the form of a magical jar at a local seattle antique store. the sign oh so innocently advertises 10/$1.00 which sounds cheap, unless you purchase 170+ of them. i now have a pretty amazing button collection. not sure what i will do with it yet, but i have it. and it's (of course) arranged by color.
currently listening to: the great escape - patrick watson; forgive - burial; candy land - cocorosie; sea lion - sage francis.

he was my spirit of things
From Keturah and Lord Death:
"Tell me what it is like to die," I answered.
"You experience something similar every day," Death said softly. "It is as familiar to you as bread and butter."
"Yes," I said. "It is like every night when I fall asleep."
"No. It is like every morning when you wake up."
