from the title you would think this is about food.
ha.
far from it.
it's my new nickname.
given to me by a boy a little short of four years old.
you try saying na-TAHN-ya really fast as a four year old boy.
trust me, it doesn't really work.
he was pretty enamored with his creation once i explained that i liked my new nickname and then described what a nickname was. while he denied it when his mother suggested that one of his nicknames is sugar-booger, he took every opportunity to say mine.
what's this, lasagna? will you read me this story, lasagna? mumble mumble perhaps a made up word or two, lasagna?

i like your new nick nat (: what story did you end up reading to him?
cwth? cameron wetherford thane hunt? cameron wants to hunt? cameron wheaters the hunt? or???
i read a slightly abbreviated version of shaun tan's the lost thing. i cleverly turned two pages as once and deliberately skipped some of the longer passages while preserving the heart of the story. at this point in the visit his mother was finishing the disaster-area relief work (only half joking) and gathering up his little sister so this wasn't a long drawn out story time. :}
